Multiple first responder crews arrived at Indian Rock Park yesterday evening to help an injured resident who fell near the large rock formation that provides the park's namesake.

Salina Fire Department (SFD) Deputy Chief Shane Pearson said that around 7:20 p.m., an SFD engine, rescue truck and an ambulance crew arrived on the scene.

"They had non-life-threatening injuries," Pearson said.

Pearson said it wasn't clear if the resident had fallen from Indian Rock. Still, emergency responders found the resident close to the rock with injuries consistent with falling.

A witness reported that they heard the resident screaming in pain, and the ambulance left the scene with lights flashing toward Salina Regional Health Center.
