Merrill “Dean” Gill, 77, of Newton, Kansas passed away on December 2, 2023. He was born in Clifton, Kansas to Frederick M. and Hazel (Kahrs) Gill. He was raised in the Clifton area where he attended school. He graduated from Clifton High School. He moved to Manhattan, Kansas, where he was a meatcutter. Dean worked at Beech Aircraft in Salina and then in Wichita. He retired as a Flight Inspector after 35 years of service.

Dean loved family time, discovery with metal detecting and taking vacations. He enjoyed his time being Santa and bringing joy to so many. Dean’s greatest love was his family.

Dean is survived by his wife and love of his life; Colleen, sons Gary and Patrick (Zephyr) Gill, grandchildren Zach (Jamie), Zap, Volt, Bas and Cru Gill, great grandson Jayden, great granddaughter Natalie Gill, great grandson Neko, mother Hazel Gill, sister Patricia Johnston, brother Kurtis (Nori) Gill, sister-in-law Connie (Mike) Street, and brother-in-law Galen (Jodee) Haas, as well as many other family members and friends.

Dean was preceded in death by his father Frederick Gill, brother Raymond Gill, and grandson Ocean Van Gill.
