Police are investigating damage done to the marble front of a downtown Salina boutique sometime last week.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that sometime between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday, someone damaged three pieces of marble on the front of True Betty Boutique & Gifts, 108 N. Santa Fe Avenue.
One of the pieces of marble had a one-inch circle with cracks radiating out from it. The other two pieces of marble just had circles, Forrester said. Although the owner believes the storefront was shot at, police could not find any bullet casings or the remains of bullets, he said.
Total damge was estimated at $2,500.
