Dr. Walden Raynold Peterson, 89, of Lindsborg, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021, surrounded by family at Lindsborg Community Hospital. He was a retired Lindsborg dentist.
Walden was born November 30, 1931, on the family farm near Dresden, Kansas, the son of Raynold G. and Elsa (Holmdahl) Peterson. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1949, North Park College in Chicago, Bethany College in 1954, and UMKC School of Dentistry in 1958.
He was a member of Lindsborg Evangelical Covenant Church.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth of the home; two sons, Mark Peterson (Joyce) of Lindsborg, KS and Ralph Peterson (Susan) of Billings, MT; daughter-in-law, Dr. Michelle Klem of Denver, CO; ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Elston Thelander, a son, Dale Peterson, brother and a sister-in-law, Gerald and Lois Peterson, and step-brother, Klinton Thelander.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 29, at the Lindsborg Covenant Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the church or the Lindsborg Community Hospital in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
