Police: Woman violates several protection orders after breaking into home

A woman violates several protection orders after breaking into a home in south Salina.

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Wednesday just after 11:00 pm, officers were dispatched to a home in south Salina for the report of an attempted residential burglary.

A 63-year old woman reported that Shelby Shaw (34) was trying to enter her home. There were several protection orders filed against Shaw prior to the incident.

Shaw removed a screen door and the victim opened the door, telling her to leave. Shaw then forced her way into the home.

When officers arrived they located Shaw and attempted an arrest, but she resisted.

Officer were able to take her into custody and booked into the Saline County Jail for the requested charges of: 

- Aggravated Burglary.

- Felony Interference with Law Enforcement.

- Multiple Protection Orders (protection from abuse); Violation of a Protection Order referencing a pre-trial order.
