Salina law enforcement accuse boy of DUI, after operating his mother's vehicle.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on the early morning hours of May 1, a 13-year old male reportedly struck a traffic pole, while operating a vehicle.
SPD stated, an officer found the vehicle in the area of Marcella Dr. and attempted a traffic stop. The 13-year old did not comply and fled.
Throughout the pursuit, the boy lost control of the vehicle and struck a traffic pole going northbound on 9th Street.
Afterwards, he fled from the vehicle on foot but officers were able to locate and arrest him along the east portion of Sam's Club (2919 Market Pl.)
According to SPD, the boy appeared to be intoxicated and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center for a medical screening and DUI testing.
Moreover, SPD stated the boy was very uncooperative and struck a hospital security guard.
The boy was then transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Junction City and placed on a requested charge of DUI
SPD confirmed the boy was operating his mother's vehicle.
