DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR STEVE SPAGNUOLO
Q: What do you need to see from CB Mansoor Delane before Week 1?
SPAGNUOLO: āYeah, I mean, because (CB Mansoor Delane) heās dealing still with, weāre trying to be a little cautious with the shoulder blade. And I think you guys saw him and heās out there today because we only had shells on, so he could protect himself. The other three days with shoulder pads, it just was really being safe, right? Protect him from himself because you put pads on and you forget, and we donāt want to set him back. But I did think he did a good job. You saw him in and out of huddles, getting everything mentally, tried to keep the conditioning up. So hopefully weāll see where we are tomorrow because we put the pads back on but thatāll be (Vice President of Sports Medicine & Performance) Rickās (Burkholder) call.ā
Q: What are your thoughts on DL Peter Woods in padded practice?
SPAGNUOLO: āNow, (DL Peter) Peteās (Woods) one thick good-looking dude. He looks the way D linemen are supposed to look, right? (Laughter) But I think heās got a ways to go. I mean, some of these younger guys arenāt really used to the way that we do things. Iām talking about all the little things, running in and out of huddle, all that stuff, and thatās for all the rookies and Peteās right in there with that crew. But when he does get his feet right, he does keep his pad level low, heās a pretty good football player. So, itās our job to get him to do that every down and heās a willing guy. I like him, heās a smart football player.ā
Q: Weāve had three consecutive days of padded practice, what were you able to learn about this defense for the first time from that?
SPAGNUOLO: āYeah, I wasnāt real happy with theāI think it was the second day. We had a lot of downs, with the third and one. Thatās a tough down defensively, the percentages go up, but I didnāt like that particular day. I didnāt think we did particularly well in the goal line. If Iām assessing the three days in pads, I would say weāve got a long way to go with our physicality and our violent play. And yet youāre going against your own team. So, youāve got to play that game, but hopefully we can get enough of those snaps in the preseason games to see what we have.ā
Q: Where is DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah now, compared to where you thought he would be coming into camp?
SPAGNUOLO: āI think (DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah) heās had a really good camp. And heās fought these injuries in, you guys know, you guys have been here, heās fought these injuries all the way through. Even when he was playing, I think he was hampered by, you have to ask him, but it feels like the healthiest heās been. Heās been in the system now for a fourth year, so he should know it. I think heās had some pretty effective, productive plays. Iām hoping that continues. And listen, (DE) Ashton (Gillotte), we need him out there, but the blessing in disguise for Felix is he gets more reps, so hopefully he keeps being positive.ā

QB JUSTIN FIELDS
Q: What excites you most about what you can do within the offense?
FIELDS: āReally just getting on the field and getting back in game mode to be honest with you. Like you said, I donāt know how much (Head) Coach (Andy) Reid plans on showing, but whatever we get, being able to get back in real game time and getting that feeling. And it should be fun for the guys that are going to get out there and especially some new young rookies. So, Iām excited to see everybody out there.ā
Q: Where is your comfort level with the receivers?
FIELDS: āYeah, I definitely feel like itās gotten better, especially since OTAs. OTAs is the first time youāre really throwing to them. But the more we work with them each day, especially me and us. I know (Quarterback) Pat (Mahomes) probably has a good fit with all of them, but the more reps I get with them the more you can kind of see their tempo, their brakes out of routes and stuff like that. So, itās been kind of good, getting those reps, stuff like that.ā
Q: How do you feel about running QB keepers?
FIELDS: āI feel like weāve only put in a couple of them, but of course, Iām used to it. Iāve been doing it my whole career, so yeah, pretty comfortable with all of them.ā
DL PETER WOODS
Q: What are some things you have learned from this experience, positive or negative?
WOODS: āIām always trying to find ways to get better, being very critical of myself. I would say I learned a lot. How important the little details are, like footwork and hand placement. Just the little things in this league can get you beat. Itās not always about raw strength, power, potential, or things of that nature. Just really honing in on the little details is something I think Iāve learned.ā
Q: On the topic of working with Defensive Line Coach Joe Cullen.
WOODS: āI love (Defensive Line) Coach (Joe) Cullen. He brings the energy each and every day. We are in camp, some days some guys arenāt going to have it, but he has it every day. I am very appreciative of him and what he brings to the table. The knowledge and the wisdom that he brings. He knows a lot about this game, 30 years, 30-plus years in. So yeah, I am very appreciative of Coach Cullen.ā
Q: On the topic of having something to prove in camp because he slid in the draft.
WOODS: āYeah, every day. I wouldnāt attribute it to the draft. Thatās just who I am as a person. I always kind of have a chip on my shoulder. Always trying to be, like I say, very critical of myself. Every day I come out here I am not really satisfied with how my day ends. That just helps me be better the next day.ā
WR NIKKO REMIGIO
Q: You are someone who has had to fight for your role in the past. What is it like to come into camp as the established returner?
REMIGIO: āMy mindset doesnāt change at all. I consistently stay in a place of having everything to gain and nothing to lose. I'm a firm believer in that and I stood up here in front of you guys last year and told you that my mentality was that undrafted free agent that barely got a shot to make it and I'm scratching and clawing and I stand by that. So that's where my mentality is at.ā
Q: Where are you trying to push yourself most in the grind to become a better player?
REMIGIO: āYeah, I don't think there's one particular place. I think it's obviously expanding to try to get a bigger role on the team, getting some more reps on offense, becoming more of a factor in that scenario. And then most importantly, my role as a returner, just being the best returner that I could possibly be and the goal is to be the best in the NFL. So that's where I'm at.ā
Q: What did you notice about the way guys came back to camp this year after some disappointment last year?
