Over the weekend, Katie Weiss (Sacred Heart) punched her ticket to this year's 1-3A state tennis tournament with a second-place finish at regionals.
Weiss, who will compete in her fourth-straight state tournament on Friday, dominated the competition, defeating opponents from Smoky Valley, KC Christian, and Marysville en route to a regional runner-up finish.
Callie Yohe also put up a good fight but split her matches, ultimately falling to the very player that Weiss would fall to in the final.
The 1-3A State Tournament begins in Topeka on Friday, October 13th.
