Barbara A. Vaughn, 66, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at her home. She was born January 7, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Dale H. and Carol J. (Phillips) Thomson.
Barbara married Jay Weldon Martin on January 22, 1972. They had three children, Richard, James, and Kim Martin. They later divorced.
She later married Michael S. Vaughn of Texas. Barbara gained three stepchildren from this marriage, Dusty, Ben, and Shannon.
Barbara worked in the nursing field for over fifty years as a CNA, CMA, HHA and RA. She loved the elderly, animals and plants. Barbara also loved to be outside.
She is survived by her sons Richard Martin of Kansas City, and James Martin of McPherson; three stepchildren, Dusty (Sharon) Vaughn of TX, Ben Vaughn of TN, and Shannon Brewer; grandchildren Calissa Fattig and Andrew Harris of the home; and numerous other grandchildren; sister Janice Sue Godwin; brother Bill Thomson; stepsister Judy (John) Entz; and Jim (Ann) Bauer.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Kim Martin; and infant granddaughte, Brittaney Fattig.
Cremation is planned. Family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Moundridge Funeral Home.
