Adoption of the jail bond issue ballot language and honoring employees of the Saline County Sheriff's Office are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.
During the meeting, Deputy Braden Long and Investigator Travis Henry are each scheduled to receive the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police 2019 Valor Awards for their efforts to help apprehend an armed carjacker who led law enforcement personnel on a chase through Salina and part of Saline County on Feb. 5, 2019.
Commissioners also are scheduled to consider a resolution concerning ballot language for the jail bond issue. If approved, the jail bond issue will be on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
Other items on the county agenda for Tuesday include the following.
●Several human resources-related items
●A livestock and expo center update
●A county appraiser update
At the conclusion of the meeting, the commissioners are scheduled to meet at the Road and Bridge Department, 3424 Airport Road for a gravel road upgrade discussion, lunch, and then a gravel road tour.
