Widespread showers and thunderstorms will develop this evening and overnight, with a line of thunderstorms racing east across the region.
Some of these storms are expected to be severe with winds up to 80 mph, hail up to quarters in size and a brief tornado is also possible. Areas of south-central and southeast Kansas are the most likely areas to experience severe weather.
