Donald D. “Fritz” Pflughoeft, 89, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at his home in Ellsworth. He was born, the youngest of four children, in Ellsworth County to F.A. “Fritz” and Amalie (Haase) Pflughoeft.

Fritz was a lifetime resident of Ellsworth. He retired from Western Power and Light Company where he had worked for nearly 50 years. He also retired from the Ellsworth Volunteer Fire Department after 39 years of service. He married Earldene Gamber in Wilson, KS on August 26, 1948. They were active members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Ellsworth and they enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Fritz loved football and played quarterback on the Central Prairie League Championship team in 1948. In high school, he set pins at a two-lane bowling alley where he suffered numerous bruises while earning two cents per line. During that time, he also worked for Soukup Produce where he picked up ice from Salina to deliver to Ellsworth and other communities. Years later, he often laughed that he did all that driving without a driver’s license.

Fritz loved visiting with people, there were no strangers in his life, only people who he had not yet had an opportunity to be friends with.

Fritz is survived by his daughter, Margaret Lentz of Onalaska, WI; grandchildren, Ryan Lentz (Melissa, Katrina Lentz, Jake Svaty, and James Svaty (Ashley); and great grandchildren, Everest and Kingston Lentz and Emmerae, Shianne, Dawsone, and John Svaty. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earldene; daughter, Melinda Svaty; sisters, Lila Dean Hardman and Betty Bailor; and brother, Frederick D. Pflughoeft.

Visitation: 1-8 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth with family present 6-8 p.m.

Memorial service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2020 at Parsons Funeral Home with inurnment following in Ellsworth Cemetery.

Barbara Ann Lee

Michael Joseph Kadel was born on December 2, 1948 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Eugene and Mary Kelly Kadel. He died Friday, December 20, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer at his home in Beloit at the age of 71.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Mike grew up on the family farm and attended Kackley Grade School before attending and graduating from Notre Dame High School in Concordia. He later went to Cloud County Community College, where he played basketball.

&nbsp;&nbsp; While in high school, he met Beverly Fleming. On April 27, 1968, he and Beverly were united in marriage. Three children were born to this union – two sons, Lynn and Kevin, and daughter, Stephanie. They were privileged to spend more than 45 years of marriage together when she died in December, 2013.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Mike worked the family farm, and enjoyed every aspect of it. In the 80s he also drove a truck, delivering groceries and batteries until retiring in 2013.

&nbsp;&nbsp; He enjoyed all aspects of fatherhood – taking his kids pheasant hunting, snow skiing, water skiing, all kinds of sporting events, and was always up for a quick day trip anywhere. He also had a great passion for KU basketball. Most important to him was his family. He and Beverly loved their family and never missed an event with their children and grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and an ornery side, and often loved to tease and laugh with his family. Mike was especially a caring and selfless man, not only taking care of Beverly during her illness, but also caring for others.

&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition to his wife, Beverly, he was preceded in death by his parents.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Mike is survived by his two sons, Lynn and wife Kristen Kadel, and Kevin Kadel (Holle Evert) and his daughter, Stephanie Chancellor (Eric Lampert, all of Beloit; 10 grandchildren, Ashten and husband Logan Higbee, Tate Kadel, Karody Kadel, Brayden Black, Bryce Black and fiancé Aubrey Wichers, Caylen Chancellor, and Paige, Kara, Bryn, and Ava Kniep; brother, Robert and wife Janet Kadel of Belleville; sisters, Terry and husband Larry Olson of Hebron, NE, Cathleen Kelly of Dighton, and Susan and husband Dennis Krier of Concordia; and Beverly’s family, who were also very important to him, Marcia Mauch of Concordia, Denise and husband Bill Nosek of Omaha, David and wife Chelle Fleming of Culver, Dennis and wife Lisa Fleming of Concordia, and Bryan Fleming of Concordia; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Monday, December 23 at the Beloit First Christian Church followed by burial in Scottsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 PM with family present from 4-5 PM Sunday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice, Mitchell County Health Department, Beloit First Christian Church, or Scottsville Community Church.

George Wesley Easter II, 87, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019 at his home in Salina. George was born March 20, 1932, in rural Dickinson County, to Harry and Arretta (Haynes) Easter. He was a loving husband for 64 years, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful prayer warrior.

George grew up in Abilene where he attended school and church and became an Eagle Scout. He read his Bible with great discipline but obtained assurance of salvation during his freshman year of college. While stationed at Fort Carson, Colo., George met Joyce at a prayer meeting and then married her, April 3, 1955. They moved to Lawrence where George received an accounting degree from KU and then to Salina in 1959 where they hosted many traveling missionaries. He was an IRS agent for 31 years and private tax practice for 31 years. He taught at Sunset Bible Chapel, Kansas Bible Camp, Salina Rescue Mission, led many Bible Studies, and was active in the Sons of the American Revolution and Toastmasters.

He is survived by: his sister, Frieda Worrall; daughters, Beth Easter, Karen Zeller (Stephen, Sarah Guidry (Chad); son, David Easter (Renee); grandchildren, Jason Zeller, Becky Lamphier (Josh, Jon Zeller (Charlotte, Joshua Zeller, Jeffrey, Andrea, and Matthew Guidry, David, Meleah, Lydia, Julia, George III and Sophia Easter; and great-granddaughter, Ellianna Zeller; and numerous other relatives and friends.

George was preceded in death by: his parents; and sisters, Majorie Ramsey, Martha Jo Longhofer, and Harriet Spiegal.

Visitation will be: 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Judy Ann Watson, 68, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 19th, 2019.

Judy was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on February 8, 1951, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Sherbert) and Edgar Martin.

Survivors include daughters, April Russell (Dewayne, of Salina, and Melissa Miller (Marty) of Georgetown, Kentucky; sons, Dale Gardner Jr. (Anya, of Port Richey, Florida, and Patrick Gardner (Jennifer) of Cummings, Georgia; sister, Jeannie Barker (Jimmy) of Seneca, South Carolina; brothers, Wayne Martin (Brenda) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, David Martin of Franklin, Tennessee, and Richard Martin (Teresa) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Thristan (Kristin, Lexi (Zack, Callie (Gage, Lucian, Caleb, Aubrey, Preston, Logan, Landon, Kash, Brady, Mason, Abram; and six great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Watson, and her sister, Susan Ponder.

Memorial service will be 6:00 pm, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Heartland Worship Center, 118 S. 8th Street, Salina.

Jerry Robert Ponton, Sr., 90, of Manchester, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 19th, 2019.

Jerry was born in Junction City, Kansas on February 27, 1929, a son of the late Emma (Hughes) and Archie Ponton.

He retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years. After retiring from the Air Force, Jerry worked as a mechanic at Green Team Ford, Abilene, Kansas.

On, April 17, 1954, Jerry married Jane Schemdemann.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Ponton Jr. (Debra, of Manchester, Kansas, Archie Ponton (Linda, of Salina, Kansas, Steve Ponton, of Salina, Kansas; sisters, Sylvia Moore, Virginia Spurlock; brother, Ellis Ponton (Euella, all of Portage, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Wayne worked as a rural mail carrier, part time from 1984 to 2002 and full-time carrier 2002 to the present. He loved spending time at the Rocky Mountain National Park, Ford Mustangs and Nebraska football. Wayne was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Wright; brother, Nolan Wright and daughter in law Janel Wright.

Berneta Ruth Scott, 88 died December 18, 2019 in Manhattan, KS. She was born on November 29, 1931 in Clyde, KS, the daughter of Roland and Ethel (Good) Chartier. Berneta was born and raised in Clyde, Kansas. She was the salutatorian for the Clyde High School class of 1949. Berneta married Hal Blair Scott on May 15, 1952. She was a farm wife and they made their home in Oak Hill community. Later, they made their home in Manhattan. Berneta worked in banking for many years, first at Bennington State Bank and later at Landmark Bank in Manhattan. She also worked other jobs at ALCO, as a school bus driver, hostess for Village Inn and many other small jobs during her lifetime. Hal preceded her in death on May 29, 1980. Berneta was a 4-H leader and an elder at the Oakhill Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James and infant sister Lucille.

Melvin “Carl” Prater, 69, Wells, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the St. Luke’s Heart Institute in Kansas City.&nbsp; He was surrounded by close family.&nbsp; From his birth on December 9, 1950, until his death, Carl touched the lives of those he encountered.

The youngest of three boys, Carl was born in Salina, KS, and spent the majority of his youth in and around Minneapolis, KS.&nbsp; In 1969, He graduated from Casa Roble High School in Sacramento, California.&nbsp;

Shortly after graduation, Carl was called upon by the United States Army to serve his country in the Vietnam War.&nbsp; He fought bravely for nearly two years.&nbsp; During his service, Carl was struck by shrapnel from a nearby grenade.&nbsp; For this he earned a Purple Heart, and a scar he carried the rest of his life.&nbsp;

Following his Service, Carl married Deborah Hagerman on December 27, 1974.&nbsp; They remained together until his death.&nbsp; Carl and Deborah raised two sons, Jesse (Christie) and Cale (Laura, and were blessed with six grandchildren:&nbsp; Malory, Breanna, Gabriel, Elijah, Addison, and Jace.&nbsp; “Papa Carl” was fiercely devoted to his grandchildren, supporting them in their accomplishments and activities, and spending ample time with them.

Carl spent 48 years in the Line-Building trade, the majority of those with Capital Electric, based out of Kansas City.&nbsp; Through the years he developed many strong friendships, some of which continued until his death.&nbsp; He retired in 2017.&nbsp;

Carl was also an avid outdoorsman and passed his knowledge and passion on to his children.&nbsp; Many hours were spent on the rivers and fields of Kansas with his boys, hunting for deer and pheasants, and fishing for big, flathead catfish.&nbsp;

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Darrell Dean.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 23, at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis with military honors.&nbsp; The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 Sunday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salina Rescue Mission and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Joyce Elaine Wild O’Neill, 85, Barnard, died Sunday, December 15, 2019.&nbsp; She was born on February 9, 1934 the youngest of ten children born to John &amp; Dorothy Wild. She graduated from Lincoln High School and worked at Salina Retailers Association in Salina. She married Jarvis O’Neill on Friday March 26, 1954 at the Presbyterian church in Lincoln and they shared 54 years together.&nbsp; After their wedding, she became a farmer’s wife and mother and later helped with O’Neill Auction Co. In 1984, Mom &amp; Dad both gave their lives to the Lord.

They were parents to&nbsp; six children. Nancy (Gilbert) Altman, Elaine (Dean) Hageman, Jarvis Paul (Gina, Joe (Beth, Penny (Chris) Bell, Marie (Ken) Branda. 21 grandchildren and&nbsp; 38 great grandchildren.

She loved fishing, reading, gardening, crocheting and sewing. She made three of her four daughters’ wedding gowns and loved to make Raggedy Ann &amp; Andy dolls for her grandchildren. Those preceding her in death are her parents &amp; husband Jarvis. Siblings, Wilbur, Fay (infant, Sara (Maggie, Ruby, Edith, Johnny, Dorothy(baby) and Emma Lou. Survivors include her sister Beth Reiss, California, all her children, grandchildren &amp; great grandchildren.

Beverly Jean Freeman, daughter of Dewayne and Lucile Lindberg was born April 22, 1933 on a farm near Courtland, KS.&nbsp; She passed away on December 16, 2019 at the age of 86 years, 7 months, and 24 days.&nbsp;

She attended John Brown District 75 country school and graduated from Courtland High School in 1951. &nbsp;She was a bookkeeper at an elevator in Stockton, KS.&nbsp; Later she returned to her hometown and was employed by Farmers Union Grain and Supply elevator in Courtland until her son was born. &nbsp;

She was united in marriage to Paul Franklin Freeman at the Scandia Methodist Church in Scandia on September 9, 1961.&nbsp; A son, Brian Dale, and a daughter, Diane Jean, completed their family.&nbsp; She was a devoted homemaker and mother.&nbsp; Beverly fit into the role of farmer’s wife with ease.

Just like Beverly’s parents had been, both Paul and Beverly were active supporters of the community.&nbsp; She looked forward to Courtland High School alumni reunions and community activities like Pancake Day and the monthly birthday/anniversary potluck suppers.

Beverly was a member of the Courtland Covenant Church and enjoyed being a part of the Covenant Women’s group and the Homemakers Club.&nbsp;&nbsp; She enjoyed traveling and they took many bus trips with the Friendship Club.&nbsp; Her love for traveling began with their 25th wedding anniversary trip to Hawaii with Marvin and Marilyn Bergstrom.&nbsp; The four of them were fortunate to take many vacations together over the years.&nbsp;

Beverly had a quiet demeanor and was kind to everyone.&nbsp; She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren at school activities and sporting events. &nbsp;She always tried to keep the cookie jar full of chocolate chip cookies for the grandchildren and she made the best homemade ice cream.&nbsp; She taught us there is always room for dessert!

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years and great grandson Cayden Michael Dunstan.

Beverly Jean Freeman



John George Arpad, 74, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away at 2:45 a.m., Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 while in the company of family members at Pine Village.

John was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on March 7, 1945, a son of John A. and Veronica (Sippos) Arpad.

John attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from St. Peter High School, New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1963.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson.

Through the years john worked for Certainteed Plastics, Inc. as a extruder operator for 25 years, he also worked for MCDS as a caregiver until his retirement.

John enjoyed fishing, cooking, raising his animals, loved being on the farm at Rutgers University College, joking with his friends, making jewelry, woodworking in his shop and spending time with his family.

John George Arpad was united in marriage to Elaine D. Braun on August 20, 1966 in Cawker City, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Uden, Holland then moved to McPherson in 1967. This couple was blessed with the birth of four children, two sons and two daughters, Chris, Michelle, Lisa and Kevin.

He is survived by his wife of over 53 years Elaine Arpad, of Moundridge, Kansas; his children, Christopher Arpad and his wife Vicki, of Los Angeles, California, Michelle Keeler and her husband Ron, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Lisa Griffin and her husband Chris, of Arlington, Texas and Kevin Arpad and his wife Christine, of McPherson, Kansas; his sister Martha Arpad, of New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Clay Keeler(Kasey, Haley Keeler, Ciara Keeler, Ryan Griffin and Lauren Griffin and his step-grandchildren,- Jeff , Jake, Kyle, Gina.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica Arpad and his step-mother Mary Arpad.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.

John George Arpad, 74, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away at 2:45 a.m., Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 while in the company of family members at Pine Village.John was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on March 7, 1945, a son of John A. and Veronica (Sippos) Arpad.John attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from St. Peter High School, New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1963.He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson.He served in the U.S. Air Force.Through the years john worked for Certainteed Plastics, Inc. as a extruder operator for 25 years, he also worked for MCDS as a caregiver until his retirement.John enjoyed fishing, cooking, raising his animals, loved being on the farm at Rutgers University College, joking with his friends, making jewelry, woodworking in his shop and spending time with his family.John George Arpad was united in marriage to Elaine D. Braun on August 20, 1966 in Cawker City, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Uden, Holland then moved to McPherson in 1967. This couple was blessed with the birth of four children, two sons and two daughters, Chris, Michelle, Lisa and Kevin.He is survived by his wife of over 53 years Elaine Arpad, of Moundridge, Kansas; his children, Christopher Arpad and his wife Vicki, of Los Angeles, California, Michelle Keeler and her husband Ron, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Lisa Griffin and her husband Chris, of Arlington, Texas and Kevin Arpad and his wife Christine, of McPherson, Kansas; his sister Martha Arpad, of New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Clay Keeler(Kasey, Haley Keeler, Ciara Keeler, Ryan Griffin and Lauren Griffin and his step-grandchildren,- Jeff , Jake, Kyle, Gina.John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica Arpad and his step-mother Mary Arpad.Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.Rosary will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas, with Fr. Lila Faye Stout, 85 of Solomon, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Village Manor Nursing Home in Abilene. She was born April 30, 1934 in Solomon, the daughter of Russel and Hilma (Wann) Thomas. 

On August 30, 1976 she was united in marriage to Melvin Stout. 

Lila worked for the Solomon School District as a school bus driver. She was also employed at the Duckwall Warehouse and the 76 Truck Stop in Solomon. 

Lila is survived by her loving husband Melvin. Three daughters: Lavena Evans of Abilene, Lisa Loucks of Salina and Sheryee Boileau of Missouri. Two sons: Deldee Kendrick and wife Kathy of Hot Springs, Missouri and Daryl Kendrick and wife Millie of Blumefield, Iowa. One brother, Donnie Thomas of Lindsborg and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Marilyn, Dorothy, Grace, Jean, Eta Marie and a brother, Dale.

Funeral Services for Lila will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 20, 2019 at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Solomon. Burial will follow at the Poheta Cemetery near Kipp. The family suggests memorials me made to the Lila Faye Stout Memorial Fund. Lila Faye Stout

Evelyn M. (Mahan) Hanel was born on May 24, 1922, near Scandia, Kansas. She was one of three children born to John and Idona (Wheatley) Mahan. Evelyn grew up near Scandia, and attended Scandia schools.

Evelyn married Wesley Noel Persinger on February 7, 1940, and to this union, seven children were born. Wesley passed away in 1971, and she married Laverne Hanel on September 21, 1974, in Belleville, and became the stepmother of five children.

Outside of the home, Evelyn worked as a C.N.A., and was very proud of her nursing job and responsibilities. She also enjoyed gardening, bingo, fishing and camping, and she loved collecting angels.

Evelyn passed from this life Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Belleville Health Care Center at the age of 97 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Wesley, sons Lynn “Arnold” Persinger in 1988, Wesley “Corky” Persinger in 1996, her daughter Diane Howe in 2017. She is also preceded in death by her stepdaughter-in-law Sue “Cathy” Hanel in 2010, stepson-in-law John Robert in 1998, brothers Jack Mahan and Harold Mahan.

Left to cherish her memories are husband Laverne Hanel of the home; children: Lyndal Frybarger and her husband Donald of Belleville, Faylon Persinger and his wife Sheila of Belleville, Larry Persinger of Belleville, Arlis Gene Persinger and his wife Willeta of Hutchinson, son-in-law Daryl Howe of Bellevlle, stepdaughter Barbara Mitchell of Waco, Texas, stepdaughter Diane Woodman and her husband Marlin of Belleville, stepson Alan Hanel of Belleville, stepson James Hanel of Waco, Texas, stepdaughter Verna “Joyce” Robert of Waco, Texas. Evelyn is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, where family will greet friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

 Predeceased by his grandfather, Fiennes Jantz in 2015.

Matthew Rapp

Patricia Louise Jones was born on June 4, 1933 in Beloit, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Katherine Payne White. She died early Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in the Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kansas at the age of 86.

She grew up and went to school in Beloit, where she graduated from Beloit High School. Following graduation, she went to nursing school, but came home to help her family.

In 1955, she was united in marriage with James L. Jones, and three children were born to this union. In 1962, she and her family moved to Osborne, where she took care of her mother and grandparents. She greatly loved her children and grandchildren, and was always loving and supporting of their activities.

Patricia and her family also lived in Ellsworth and North Newton before returning to Beloit in 2015. They were privileged to spend 62 years of marriage together until his death in June, 2017. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Newton to be closer to her daughter. While at Presbyterian Manor, she enjoyed attending Bible studies and singing hymns, while also going on outings with the other residents.

She was dearly loved and her smile will be remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Patricia is survived by her children, Kathleen and husband Wayne Valentine of Newton, Greg Jones of Gypsum, and Janis Burks of Gypsum; brother, Kenneth White, Jr. and wife Shareon of Bennington; sister, Penny Foulke of Ness City; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren with one on the way; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 11 AM Friday, December 20 at Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. Memorials may be given to the Newton Presbyterian Manor.

Nicholas F. Zaragoza, 68, of Salina, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019. He was born in Salina on Nov. 4, 1951, to Raymond and Frances (Navarrette) Zaragoza.

Nick joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17 and retired after 20 years of military service. He then worked as a mechanic for Mel Hambelton Ford, Wichita, and Long McArthur Ford, Salina, and did maintenance at Salina Vo Tech, where he retired. After retirement he worked at ServiceMaster, Salina.

Nick is survived by his wife, Rachelle Zaragoza, of Salina; mother, Frances, of Albuquerque, N.M.; children, Rachel Zaragoza, of Wichita, Derek Zaragoza, of Salina, and Jose Zaragoza, Nick Zaragoza Jr. and Daniel Zaragoza (Erin) Zaragoza, all of California; stepchildren, Victoria Fernandez, of Salina, Thomas Fernandez, of Salina, and Cote Hower (Ebonee, of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren, Maddison, Braxtyn and Olyvia Zaragoza, Angel, Izak and Urijah Zaragoza, Dajonae McGee, Timothy Gillespie, Chazz Zaragoza, Carsen Ortiz, Kristian Winegarner, and Tristian Zaragoza; stepgrandchildren, Tytus Hower, Derion, Sean, Isiah, Audriana, Ian and Gracie; siblings, Ramona Casanova, of Albuquerque, Rosemary Bonilla (Fortunato Jr., of Salina, and Linda Zrubek (Richard, of Salina; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The Urban family sadly announces that Ms. Edie Urban passed away peacefully at 9:30PM on December 13th and joined her sister Denise in heaven at age 60.

Edie was predeceased by her Sister Denise Urban and her Father Edward Urban.

She is survived by her daughter Taylor Willis and her husband, Zach Willis, her son Harrison Knopp and his girlfriend, TeeJay Johnson, her grandson Levi Knopp, her sisters Cindy Urban and Jan Bergman, her brother-in-law Jerry Bergman, her nephew Derek Bergman, and her parents Naomi and Norman Krug.

Jason Lee Spooner, 55, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 16th, 2019.

Jason was born in Denver, Colorado on February 6, 1964, a son of the late Nola Mae (Thompson) and Donald Dale Spooner.

He worked as a Welder at Sunflower Manufacturing for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ronda (Redeker) Spooner; daughter, Anna Marie Spooner, of Topeka, Kansas; sisters, Pat Clay, Pam Dodd (Dale, Connie Bowman (Richard, all of Salina; brother, Larry Spooner (Debbie, of Austin, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Naomi Jean Lambert, 91, of Shawnee Mission, KS. passed away Friday, December 13th, 2019 suddenly, at Bickford Place.

Naomi was born in Wellsville, Kansas on March 28, 1928, a daughter of Lela Marie (Sleppy) and Raymond Leroy Wiggins.

Naomi attended the Wellsville grade schools and graduated from Wellsville High School, Wellsville, Kansas in 1946.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson, and served her church in several capacities through the years.

Naomi worked at Stanley's Clothiers as a seamstress and did alterations for others. She was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She later worked for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company and started out as a Key-punch operator, then became a Computer Operator, and retired as a Computer Programmer.

Naomi was a member of Order of Eastern Star, and What Not Club. Naomi enjoyed gardening, all kinds of crafts from crocheting, needle point, wood working, wood carving just to name a few, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Naomi Wiggins was united in marriage to Reginald "Reggie" Hapgood on September 11, 1949 at McPherson, Kansas at the First United Methodist Church. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson. They were blessed with the birth of two children, one daughter and one son, Kathy and Curtis. The family was deeply saddened by the unexpected death of Reggie May 12, 1969. Naomi Hapgood was united in marriage to James Lambert in October of 1971 at the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in McPherson. Jim died in the summer of 1979.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Taylor, of Topeka, Kansas and Curtis Hapgood and wife Margaret, of Merriam, Kansas; her stepchildren, Jim Lambert and wife Phyllis of Fredonia, Kansas; Jeff Lambert and wife Bonnie, of Sebring, Florida, and Nancy Gallinger and husband Bruce, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her two grandchildren, Matthew Taylor and wife Michelle and Haley Hapgood; 11 step grandchildren, Jim Lambert and his wife Melinda, Matt Davis and wife Lori, Beth Williams, Kelsie Proehl and husband Clifford, Doug Lambert and wife April, Candice McAndrews and husband Thomas, Sean Lambert and wife Desiree, Austin Lambert, Ben Gallinger and wife Jamie, Nick Gallinger and wife Betsey, Matt Lambert, and Molly McGaughey; 10 step-great-grandchildren, Zach Davis, Luke Davis, Caleb Davis, Trent Gashler, Cody Gashler, Harper Proehl, Morgan Proehl, Raef Proehl, Lilly Lambert, and Vivienne McAndrews; other relatives and a host of friends.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Reggie Hapgood and Jim Lambert; her brothers, Donald and Larry Wiggins; and a step-son, Cliff Lambert.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson.

Funeral service will be held at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21st, 2019 with Reverend Lacey Wheeler officiating.

Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.

Naomi Jean Lambert, 91, of Shawnee Mission, KS. passed away Friday, December 13th, 2019 suddenly, at Bickford Place.Naomi was born in Wellsville, Kansas on March 28, 1928, a daughter of Lela Marie (Sleppy) and Raymond Leroy Wiggins.Naomi attended the Wellsville grade schools and graduated from Wellsville High School, Wellsville, Kansas in 1946.She was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson, and served her church in several capacities through the years.Naomi worked at Stanley's Clothiers as a seamstress and did alterations for others. She was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She later worked for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company and started out as a Key-punch operator, then became a Computer Operator, and retired as a Computer Programmer.Naomi was a member of Order of Eastern Star, and What Not Club. Naomi enjoyed gardening, all kinds of crafts from crocheting, needle point, wood working, wood carving just to name a few, cooking, and spending time with her family.Naomi Wiggins was united in marriage to Reginald "Reggie" Hapgood on September 11, 1949 at McPherson, Kansas at the First United Methodist Church. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson. They were blessed with the birth of two children, one daughter and one son, Kathy and Curtis. The family was deeply saddened by the unexpected death of Reggie May 12, 1969. Naomi Hapgood was united in marriage to James Lambert in October of 1971 at the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in McPherson.
