Cladine Marie Hartke
August 17, 1926 ~ April 23, 204

Cladine’s life began on August 17, 1926, in Marion. She was the daughter of Clayton and Ethel E. (Waner) Richmond. Cladine was a 1944 graduate of Marion High School. She was united in marriage to Francis “Doc” Hartke on July 31, 1946, in Herington.  Cladine was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington, where the family resided for many years. She was known for her amazingly huge garden every year, and for her seamstress skills.  Cladine enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She enjoyed family camping trips, fishing, and spending time with her family whenever she could. Her loving family includes her son in law Tom (Rose) Schlesener of Herington; granddaughters Elizabeth (Rodger) Pister-Schlesener of Herington and Jennifer (Dr. Matthew) Scott of Buena Vista, CO; great grandchildren Connor Scott and Logan Scott and her brother Gerald Richmond of Arkansas. Cladine passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Cynthia Schlesener; brother Gordon Richmond and sister Wilma Pigorsch. Her family will gather with friends on Sunday April 28, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington. Her funeral service will be held on Monday April 29, 2024, at 10 a.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington. She will be laid to rest in Lincolnville Cemetery.
