Alice Marie (Laudemann) Peterson
February 6, 1923 ~ April 24, 2024

Alice Marie (Laudemann) Peterson was born February 6, 1923, at rural Woodbine, the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Rohloff) Laudemann. She was baptized on February 18, 1923, at Immanuel Lutheran, Shadybrook and confirmed on May 10, 1937, at St. John’s Lutheran Rural White City. She attended parochial school at St. John’s Lutheran and Baxter School, west of White City. As a young girl in the 1940’s and for several years after her marriage, she was a nurse’s aide at the old Herington Hospital on N. Broadway. On October 18, 1947, she married Kenneth Peterson at St. John’s Lutheran Church rural White City. With her husband Kenneth, they lived and farmed in the Burdick area. In 1954, they moved to Mulvane, KS where the owned and operated a Gamble Store for 28 years. After retirement, they lived at Council Grove City Lake for 14 years before they moved to Herington in 1994. She spent the last few years of her life at the Morris County Assisted Living. While living in Mulvane, both Kenneth and Alice were active in both church and city activities. Alice was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Alice was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran, Herington, where she was active in Women/ELCA, Altar Guild, Quilters for World Relief, and other committees. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Domestic Science Club. Alice is survived by one son, Don Peterson and his wife Gloria of Overland Park, one daughter Linda Huntington and her husband Clay   of Henrico, NC; three grandchildren Doug and wife Michelle Peterson of Kansas City, KS, Stan and his wife Deidre Peterson of Henderson, NV and Amy Huntington of Springfield , VA; six great grandchildren Mekahla Peterson, Kendon Peterson, Taylor  (Matt)  Peterson King and Jordan Peterson, Andrew Huntington and Charlie Moore, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.  Alice passed away on April 24, 2024, at Morris County Assisted Living. She is preceded in death by her dear husband of 70 years “Kenny”, her parents, three brothers Milton, Norman, and Werner “Bud” Laudemann, five sisters Eshter Wernecke, Willy Schultz, Edna Knuth, Arlene Carlson, Lily Hurd, Lila Garahan, Doris Deines, and one nephew Wayne Knuth, all of the Peterson brother in laws and sister in laws and many dear relatives and friends. Her family will gather with friends on Saturday May 4, 2024, from 1 to 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herington where her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery, Burdick.
