Douglas (Doug) Duane Londene, at the age of 71 of Chapman, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 due to a tragic farm accident.

Doug was born October 1st, 1952 to Duane and Lola (Carpenter) Londene of Chapman, Kansas.

He attended Woodbine grade school and graduated from Chapman High School in 1970.

In his younger years, Doug enjoyed playing baseball and was a 4-H member of the Woodbine Jolly Jayhawkers.

His career was working for BNSF railroad for 36 years achieving the job as Road Master. He retired in 2014 and dedicated his days to full-time farming until his death.

Doug will be remembered for many things but, especially his laughter, his tight bear hugs and the joy of conversation.

Survivors include his wife, Birgitte, two daughters, Amy (Kevin) Wade, Angela Londene, one son, Ryan (Danielle) Londene and one step-son Michael Mager. Other survivors include one sister, Diane Londene, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and two step grandchildren,two nieces, two nephews, one great niece and three great nephews, two great-great nieces, and one great-great nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cindy Jo Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 on Thursday, May 9th at the Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel,206 West 5th,Chapman,Kansas. The funeral service will be Friday, May 10th at 1:00 at the Chapman Naz Church, 317 West 5th St. Burial following at Abilene Cemetery.Memorial gifts may be sent to the Chapman Naz Church and may be sent in care of the Londeen-Overlease Funeral Home, P.O.
