April 21, 1924 ~ February 18, 2021 (age 96)

Melva Jane Parrack was born on April 21, 1924, on the family farm near Cuba, to Jerry and Julia Nettie (Svoboda) Kopsa. Melva attended Beebee Country School, and then graduated from Cuba High School, class of 1942.

Melva was united in marriage to Vernon Glen Havel on March 10, 1942, in Fairbury. To this union, three daughters were born, Linda, Joleen and Peggy. Melva worked in the Cuba telephone office before relocating to Douglas, Arizona, when Vernon was called up to active duty, where she worked for the War Services Department as a teletypist.

Following the war, Vernon and Melva returned to Cuba, where they purchased and operated Havel’s Café for over 11 years. Vernon passed away on November 28, 1969. Melva remarried to Dennis Jack Parrack on September 6, 1974, in Cuba. Jack passed away July 30, 1978.

Melva retired from the Belleville Port of Entry. In retirement, Melva enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, and supporting her hometown. She was a charter member of the VW Club in Cuba, and was also a member of the TOPS club. Melva was also a member of the Cuba Presbyterian Church.

Melva passed away on February 18, 2021, at the age of 96 years, 9 months and 28 days.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Vernon and Jack, daughter Linda Allday in 2015, daughter Joleen Baxa in December 2020, brother Dennis Kopsa in December 2020, and an infant sister Doris.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Peggy Humpert and her husband Lyle of Tescott, Kansas, son-in-law Terry Baxa of Belleville, brother Jerry Kopsa and his wife Pat of Belleville; four grandchildren, 10 grea- grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a community of friends.

Cremation was chosen, with memorial services to be held Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., at the Cuba Presbyterian Church. Committal services will follow at National Bohemian Cemetery #13, rural Cuba.

Friends may sign Melva's book at the funeral home on Thursday, April 15th and Friday, April 16, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days.&nbsp;

Troy Lee Hoffman, 47, of Abilene KS, passed away on April 8, 2021. Troy was born on June 1, 1973 to Larry and Kim Hoffman. Troy was raised by Larry and June Hoffman of Abilene, KS. Kim McAsey also contributed a large role in Troy’s early life. After graduating from Abilene High School, he went on to study Auto Collision Repair at Salina Vo-Tech.

Troy was a very loving and dedicated father. Troy and Lora welcomed Tori Sue Hoffman on May 12, 2010. Tori and Troy enjoyed many activities together, including riding scooters at Browns Park or ending the day with ice cream from Dairy Queen. Troy treasured his time with Tori and embraced every moment with her. Outside of spending time with his daughter, Troy enjoyed watching NASCAR races, making improvements to his farmhouse, or spending time at his pond, which he took extreme pride in since he created the pond himself.

Troy was preceded in death by father, Larry Hoffman, grandfather, Leroy Jr. Hoffman, and grandmother, Leta Corbett.

Troy is survived by daughter Tori Hoffman, step-daughter Kathryn Fink and their mother Lora Simmons, Abilene, KS; mother, June Hoffman, Chapman, KS; sisters Kylie Haws and husband, Brett, Marion, KS; Courtney Hoffman and fiancé, Tony, Salina, KS; brothers Casey Hoffman, Manhattan, KS; Clay Hirt and fiancé Jamie, Chapman, KS; Corey Hirt and wife Robin Hirt, Lebo, KS, grandmother, Dottie Hoffman, Abilene, KS.

The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Lifehouse Church in Abilene with Pastor Chris Danielson officiating. His final resting place will be in the New Basel Church Cemetery south of Abilene. Friends may stop by and sign the register book at the funeral home until service time.

Today in History -- April 14

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a jail inmate on felony charges for damaging the windows in his cell.

Just after 2 a.m. Friday, a Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Detention Deputy, conducting physical rounds, discovered an inmate in the process of breaking a hole in his outer cell window, according to Lt. Benjamin Blick.

 The deputy immediately removed the inmate from the cell and secured the area.

While conducting regular physical rounds inside the housing unit the deputy noticed paper covering a portion of the window. The deputy instructed the inmate to remove the items so he could examine the window. When the items were removed the deputy observed damage to the window approximately six inches in diameter. The inmate had already managed to break through the first several layers of glass, but was stopped before gaining access to the outside of the building.

The inmate involved was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail approximately three months ago and is currently being held on one count of First Degree Murder. 

As a result of the damage to the window a case was cut for felony criminal damage to property. That case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for charging at a later date, according to Blick.

A hole of this size, with access to the outside of the building would have provided an access point to introduce dangerous contraband into the secure portion of the facility. Due to the attention to detail and quick action of the Detention Deputy involved, the inmate was unable to gain access to the outside of building.

Kan. murder suspect accused of breaking through jail cell window

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating the driver of a vehicle&nbsp; forced off the roadway into a field during a high-speed pursuit on Saturday in Shawnee County.

Just after 9p.m. On Saturday, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received notification of a blue passenger car in the 8000 block of SE Berryton Road traveling northbound erratically and at high speeds, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

 A deputy arrived in the 5500 block of SE Berryton Road and observed a blue 2010 Toyota Corolla traveling north at approximately 95 miles per hour. The driver refused to stop and initiated a pursuit. 

During the pursuit, the driver left the roadway and crossed the center line multiple times. Deputies pinned the vehicle to end the pursuit in the roundabout at SE 45th Street and California Avenue.

Deputies arrested the driver, Brian C. Weixelman Jr., 19, of Topeka, and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on charges of flee or attempt to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, driving under the influence, failure to stop at an accident, minor in consumption, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper driving on a laned roadway and speeding.

Ralph Raymond Dunstan was born March 9, 1924, to Ethel Estelle (Cooper) and John F. Dunstan. Surrounded by his family, Ralph took his trip to join his wife Joy, on April 10, 2021, after living a full life of 97 years, 1 month and 1 day.

Ralph was the youngest of eight children. Ralph was born northwest of Formoso. The family later moved to south of Montrose, where he attended school and graduated in 1942.

Coyote hunting was one of his favorite pastimes when he was growing up. He took in all of the hunts within 25-30 miles. His nickname growing up was Rats, the basketball coach called him that, but he never knew why. He was proud of his high school athletic accomplishments.

After Ralph and Joy were married in 1946, they began to follow his childhood dream of farming southwest of Montrose. They later moved to the current homestead on the hill. It was through his love of farming and livestock that he instilled (demanded) the hard work ethic in his children. One of the fond memories he had was all of his children drove the 9N Ford Tractor easily. Ralph loved being a wheat farmer, and often said “If it wasn’t for crop rotation, I would never plant anything but wheat.”

Ralph and Joy enjoyed taking bus trips, traveling to see the countryside. Through the years, Ralph enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals and KU Jayhawks men’s basketball.

Ralph continued his love of farming actively through fall harvest of 2020, driving the tractor and grain cart for 40 straight days.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years Joy Kathleen Saint, brothers Robert and Edwin; sisters Ruby Lang, Adeline Morris, Eloise Rockey; and two infant brothers.

Ralph is survived by his children: Karla (Mike) Little of Chanute; Jana (Darrell) Carlson of Courtland; Steve (Loreita) Dunstan of Formoso; Lori (Rob) Bonjour of Formoso; Eldon (Pam) Dunstan of Mankato; and Kristi (Brian) Badger of Mankato.

He is also survived by his grandchildren; Brian (Kristen) Little, Amy Little, Nikki Little, Brent (Paula) Carlson, Derek (Audrey) Carlson, Mindy (Jim) Tighe, Russ (Kayla) Dunstan, Tyler (Courtney) Dunstan, Neil (Sierra) Bonjour, Kaylene (Caleb) Ramsey, Brooke Callaway and her fiancé Bryan Randa, Kaitlyn (Nick) Dunn, Baylie (Yani) Wolf, Karrigan Dunstan, Adam (Megan) Badger, and Alex (Kaylee) Badger. Ralph is also survived by his 21 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Carlyle Saint, many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 2:00 pm, at the Formoso Community Church with Pastor Daniel Waide and Mr. Randy Paugh officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Cemetery, rural Jewell.

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas woman shot by police in Wichita was released from the hospital and is <a href="https://ssc.sedgwickcounty.org/sheriffinmates/SheriffInmateDetail.aspx?nameId=123228">now in jail.</a>

Deputies booked <a href="https://ssc.sedgwickcounty.org/sheriffinmates/SheriffInmateDetail.aspx?nameId=123228">35-year-old Jennifer Miller</a> into the Sedgwick County Jail just after 7p.m. Friday, according to <a href="https://ssc.sedgwickcounty.org/sheriffinmates/SheriffInmateDetail.aspx?nameId=123228">online jail records.</a>

On March 31, two police officers were proactively checking the Red Roof Inn, 7335 East Kellogg and Sky Palace, 7321 East Kellogg after numerous calls and complaints over several months involving assaults, burglaries, drugs, stolen cars, underage parties and other things that would constitute a nuisance to the neighborhood and the businesses.

While checking the businesses, the officers saw a stolen Subaru Legacy behind the Red Roof Inn. The car had been reported stolen on March 30. As officers approached the car, they saw Miller enter the car's trunk, grab items and walk toward her room at the Sky Palace.

One officer approached Miller. A second officer arrived to assist and asked Miller for identification. Miller reached into her purse, pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at both officers, according to Wichita Police Captain Stephens.

One officer pulled his handgun and fired one shot striking Miller in the neck. The officers began life saving measures and called EMS.&nbsp; She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.&nbsp;

Miller is being held on requested charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of stolen property, auto theft and felon in possession of a firearm, according to Stephens.

The car had been reported stolen on Tuesday. As they approached the car, they saw Miller enter the car's trunk, grab items and walk toward her room at the Sky Palace.One officer approached Miller. A second officer arrived to assist and asked Miller for identification. Miller reached into her purse, pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at both officers, according to Stephens.One officer pulled his handgun and fired one shot striking Miller in the neck. The officers began life saving measures and called EMS.&nbsp; She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.&nbsp;<figure>

Today in History --April 11

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, teacher, friend, baseball fan, and public servant, Robert D. (Bob) Linder was at home in Manhattan, Kansas when he left this earth to be with his Lord early Easter Sunday morning 4 April 2021 at the age of 87. Born in Salina, Kansas, on 6 October 1933, he was the first of Orel Andrew Linder and Minnie Izetta Bickel Linder’s four boys. The Great Depression, which presented his working-class family with many hardships, was no indication of what future his talents, intellect, and hard work would produce, but the circumstances of his humble beginnings were a powerful force that would inform his perspective; the expansive, creative spirit of the Great Plains would never leave him. With faith in God, a good sense of humor, and a keen, curious mind, Linder was blessed with a rich life filled with family, friends, baseball, and scholarly adventure. From a young age, Linder developed a love for baseball, an interest he shared with his father who once, at great cost, took young Bobby on an overnight bus ride to see the St. Louis Cardinals play, then the closest professional team, where he cheered on Stan the Man Musial and other heroes of the day. He returned to organize his local neighborhood team into serious ball players by having them each sign a contract committing to a fee of 1 cent if they missed a practice. Linder excelled at sports during his high school days, setting track records and wrestling for Salina High School, from which he graduated in 1951. He also continued perfecting his game of baseball, playing with zeal and at a standard that put him on the path of playing professionally, but eventually turning down a Triple A contract with the White Sox to attend college. He would never fully leave his love of baseball behind and even taught a hugely popular course on the History of Baseball in American Culture, gave talks at Society for American Baseball Research conferences, and always enjoyed attending Kansas City Royals games, and spring training camps, especially in his latter years. After high school, Linder moved to Chicago to receive Biblical training at Moody Bible Institute, the institution he credited for developing his ability to write well; on the side, he washed windows part-time in downtown Chicago, amongst other jobs, to make ends meet. After his stint in Chicago, he returned to Kansas where he was awarded scholarships to study for his BS in Education with an emphasis in History from Kansas State Teachers College, now Emporia State University, earning his degree in 1956. While at college in Emporia, he discovered his passion for history and met and married his wife of 63 years, Jean Ann Burch. Around this time, while exploring different career paths, he also earned a couple of seminary degrees. From Emporia, he went on to the University of Iowa from where he obtained an MA and PhD in History in l960 and l963, respectively. In this period of his life, he also served in the US Army Reserves for eight years, retiring with the rank of Captain. Linder began his teaching career at William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri, in l963. In l965, he joined the History Department at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, where he went on to teach for more than 50 years. In 2003, he was named University Distinguished Professor of History and retired, Emeritus, in 2018. His years of post-doctoral study while on sabbatical, first at Oxford University, England in 1974 and again at Cambridge University, England in 1986, were among some of the happiest times of his life, particularly his days in Oxford when his family was alongside him and where on weekends they explored the nooks and crannies of the country’s storied castles, haunted places, and battlefields, and he enjoyed multiple trips to the European continent driving as far as from Oxford to Moscow by car. During his lifetime he wrote and published extensively in the fields of religion and politics, writing or editing 17 books and publishing more than one hundred scholarly papers and articles. His latest major project, a seminal work on the history of Evangelicals in Australia which he co-authored with Australian scholar, Stuart Piggin, was the culmination of 30 years of research and parts of multiple decades spent on the continent Down Under. Published in two volumes (2018 and 2020) the book has received critical acclaim. During his time there, Linder developed many close and enduring relationships with his Australian counterparts. He loved the Out Back as he did the Great Plains and acquired the nickname “Crocodile Bob.” A lifelong educator, Linder was also a public servant.  </figure>Beloved husband, father, grandfather, teacher, friend, baseball fan, and public servant, Robert D. (Bob) Linder was at home in Manhattan, Kansas when he left this earth to be with his Lord early Easter Sunday morning 4 April 2021 at the age of 87. Born in Salina, Kansas, on 6 October 1933, he was the first of Orel Andrew Linder and Minnie Izetta Bickel Linder’s four boys. The Great Depression, which presented his working-class family with many hardships, was no indication of what future his talents, intellect, and hard work would produce, but the circumstances of his humble beginnings were a powerful force that would inform his perspective; the expansive, creative spirit of the Great Plains would never leave him. With faith in God, a good sense of humor, and a keen, curious mind, Linder was blessed with a rich life filled with family, friends, baseball, and scholarly adventure. From a young age, Linder developed a love for baseball, an interest he shared with his father who once, at great cost, took young Bobby on an overnight bus ride to see the St. Louis Cardinals play, then the closest professional team, where he cheered on Stan the Man Musial and other heroes of the day. He returned to organize his local neighborhood team into serious ball players by having them each sign a contract committing to a fee of 1 cent if they missed a practice. Linder excelled at sports during his high school days, setting track records and wrestling for Salina High School, from which he graduated in 1951. He also continued perfecting his game of baseball, playing with zeal and at a standard that put him on the path of playing professionally, but eventually turning down a Triple A contract with the White Sox to attend college. He would never fully leave his love of baseball behind and even taught a hugely popular course on the History of Baseball in American Culture, gave talks at Society for American Baseball Research conferences, and always enjoyed attending Kansas City Royals games, and spring training camps, especially in his latter years. After high school, Linder moved to Chicago to receive Biblical training at Moody Bible Institute, the institution he credited for developing his ability to write well; on the side, he washed windows part-time in downtown Chicago, amongst other jobs, to make ends meet. After his stint in Chicago, he returned to Kansas where he was awarded scholarships to study for his BS in Education with an emphasis in History from Kansas State Teachers College, now Emporia State University, earning his degree in 1956. While at college in Emporia, he discovered his passion for history and met and married his wife of 63 years, Jean Ann Burch. Around this time, while exploring different career paths, he also earned a couple of seminary degrees. From Emporia, he went on to the University of Iowa from where he obtained an MA and PhD in History in l960 and l963, respectively. In this period of his life, he also served in the US Army Reserves for eight years, retiring with the rank of Captain. Linder began his teaching career at William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri, in l963. In l965, he joined the History Department at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, where he went on to teach for more than 50 years. In 2003, he was named University Distinguished Professor of History and retired, Emeritus, in 2018. His years of post-doctoral study while on sabbatical, first at Oxford University, England in 1974 and again at Cambridge University, England in 1986, were among some of the happiest times of his life, particularly his days in Oxford when his family was alongside him and where on weekends they explored the nooks and crannies of the country’s storied castles, haunted places, and battlefields, and he enjoyed multiple trips to the European continent driving as far as from Oxford to Moscow by car. During his lifetime he wrote and published extensively in the fields of religion and politics, writing or editing 17 books and publishing more than one hundred scholarly papers and articles. His latest major project, a seminal work on the history of Evangelicals in Australia which he co-authored with Australian scholar, Stuart Piggin, was the culmination of 30 years of research and parts of multiple decades spent on the continent Down Under. Published in two volumes (2018 and 2020) the book has received critical acclaim. During his time there, Linder developed many close and enduring relationships with his Australian counterparts. He loved the Out Back as he did the Great Plains and acquired the nickname “Crocodile Bob.” A lifelong educator, Linder was also a public servant. JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man on multiple charges after a traffic stop.

On April 6, sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle for an alleged registration violation east of U.S. Highway 75 on 126th Road, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

 Further investigation in the traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected illicit items in the vehicle. 

Deputies arrested the driver, Kevin Lamont Hayes, 33, of Topeka and booked him into the Jackson County Jail on on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal carrying of weapons, driving with no license and no insurance.

MCPHERSON -- The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is being brought in to investigate the death of an inmate in the McPherson County Jail.

According to information from Sheriff Jerry P. Montagne, Kevin Brittingham, 55, of Newton, was arrested on a requested charge of domestic battery and booked into the McPherson County Jail at approximately 2:15 p.m. Thursday. He was placed in a booking holding cell.

At approximately 3:35 p.m., a McPherson County correctional officer discovered Brittingham unresponsive in the booking cell. 

According to Montagne, life-saving measures were attempted, including administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation and using an automated external defibrillator. Additionally, McPherson Fire Department and EMS personnel responded to the jail and continued attempting to resuscitate Brittingham. Despite those efforts, Brittingham was pronounced dead at approximately 4:05 p.m., Montagne reported.

Per state statute, the McPherson County Sheriff's Office has requested that the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) look into the matter. The KBI investigates all deaths of individuals in the custody of a Kansas jail or prison, unless the inmate is being regularly attended by a physician.

Montagne noted that Brittingham's injuries appear to have been self-inflicted. An autopsy will be conducted and the investigation is ongoing.

Dr. Ann Elizabeth Liston, 83, formerly of Hays, died Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Wilson Care and Rehab in Wilson, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born August 6, 1937, and considered Harlan, Iowa, her hometown.

Ann earned her master’s degree from Michigan State University, was a fan of Spartan football and left her collection of American needlework (one of her areas of specific study) to MSU.&nbsp; Ann received her doctorate from Ohio State University.

She joined the faculty at Fort Hays State University in 1968 where she spent her entire career. She was a professor of history, an advisor, and retired as chair of her department.&nbsp; While at FHSU, Ann served on many committees, including the department scholarship committee, and she sponsored Phi Alpha Theta, a history honor society. &nbsp;She supported student involvement in the Ellis County Historical Society and served as curator of history at FHSU’s Sternberg Museum of Natural History.&nbsp;Ann also was a member of the Kansas Humanities Council Speakers Bureau.&nbsp;In the community, she was a Hays Public Library board member, an active participant in Friends of the Library, and encouraged library music programs. &nbsp; Ann was a member of the Hays Medical Center Auxiliary.&nbsp;She also led book discussions, part of the Talk About Literature in Kansas program of the humanities council.

Ann was an avid fan of jazz and other forms of music and, according to the musicians she knew, a great listener.&nbsp; Musicians and teachers&nbsp;Brad Dawson and Luke Johnson from the Hays area showed their appreciation by playing at Ann's birthday celebrations at Wilson Care and Rehab.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Ann’s father, Glen Liston, was a journalist, photographer and newspaper editor.&nbsp; Her mother, Mildred, was highly educated at a time when it was unusual for women.&nbsp; She taught home economics, currently Family and Consumer Science.

Survivors include friends Kate Dutton Coddington&nbsp;of Wamego, Kansas; Elaine Garrison&nbsp;of Kansas City, Missouri; and former students and colleagues at FHSU.

Honorary pallbearers are Richard "Junior" Brown; Dr. David Goodlett;&nbsp;Andrew Warren; Gerald Spaits; Ben Markley; and Clint Ashlock.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Ann’s longtime partner, the late “Frank” (Francis) Windholz, rests in the Gorham, Kansas, cemetery.&nbsp; Ann’s brother Philip, sister Susan, and their parents also preceded Ann in death.

Per her request, Ann has been cremated.&nbsp; While circumstances do not allow for a service now, a musical celebration of Ann’s life is planned for early August. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; 

Memorial donations are suggested to the Humane Society of the High Plains and Friends of the (Hays Public) Library, specified for music programming in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.

She was a professor of history, an advisor, and retired as chair of her department.&nbsp; While at FHSU, Ann served on many committees, including the department scholarship committee, and she sponsored Phi Alpha Theta, a history honor society. &nbsp;She supported student involvement in the Ellis County Historical Society and served as curator of history at FHSU’s Sternberg Museum of Natural History.&nbsp;Ann also was a member of the Kansas Humanities Council Speakers Bureau.&nbsp;In the community, she was a Hays Public Library board member, an active participant in Friends of the Library, and encouraged library music programs. &nbsp; Ann was a member of the Hays Medical Center Auxiliary.&nbsp;She also led book discussions, part of the Talk About Literature in Kansas program of the humanities council.Ann was an avid fan of jazz and other forms of music and, according to the musicians she knew, a great listener.&nbsp; Musicians and teachers&nbsp;Brad Dawson and Luke Johnson from the Hays area showed their appreciation by playing at Ann's birthday celebrations at Wilson Care and Rehab.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Ann’s father, Glen Liston, was a journalist, photographer and newspaper editor.&nbsp; Her mother, Mildred, was highly educated at a time when it was unusual for women.&nbsp; She taught home economics, currently Family and Consumer Science.Survivors include friends Kate Dutton Coddington&nbsp;of Wamego, Kansas; Elaine Garrison&nbsp;of Kansas City, Missouri; and former students and colleagues at FHSU.Honorary pallbearers are Richard "Junior" Brown; Dr. David Goodlett;&nbsp;Andrew Warren; Gerald Spaits; Ben Markley; and Clint Ashlock.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Ann’s longtime partner, the late “Frank” (Francis) Windholz, rests in the Gorham, Kansas, cemetery.&nbsp; Ann’s brother Philip, sister Susan, and their parents also preceded Ann in death.Per her request, Ann has been cremated.&nbsp; While circumstances do not allow for a service now, a musical celebration of Ann’s life is planned for early August. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Memorial donations are suggested to the Humane Society of the High Plains and Friends of the (Hays Public) Library, specified for music programming in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.Condolences can be sent via e-mail to <a href="mailto:clinesmortuary@eaglecom.net">clinesmortuary@eaglecom.net</a> or can be left at guest book at <a href="http://www.keithleyfuneralchapels.com">www.keithleyfuneralchapels.com</a> &nbsp;
