KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City.
Just after 6 a.m. Sunday, patrol officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Flora on a reported shooting , according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
Officers observed a vehicle facing the wrong direction, parked on the curb. Inside the vehicle officers located a male victim, later identified as 17-year-old Camren A. English suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers immediately began performing life saving measures and ordered EMS to the scene. Medics transported the English to a local hospital where he died a short time later. Police initially indicated the incident was a death investigation. On Monday police reclassified the case to a homicide investigation, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
Detectives are working to determine what led to shots being fired and the victim being struck.
