SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement investigating a deadly shooting and have made an arrest.
Just after 5p.m. Tuesday, Shawnee County Emergency Communications received a 911 report of a shooting associated with the Montara subdivision in Topeka, according to Sheriff Brian Hill. Deputies responded and determined the incident occurred at a residence in the 2000 block of SW 70th Terrace.
Jonathan C. Bailes, 18, of Topeka, was pronounced deceased.
Deputies arrested 15-year-old Brandon E. Stewart Jr. of Topeka, and booked into the Shawnee County Juvenile Department of Corrections on the following requested charges of Murder in the 2nd degree, unintentional but reckless, Interference with law enforcement
