Police track down Kansas suspect in parking lot killing

SEDGWICK COUNTY —After asking the public for help to find a homicide suspect, police have made an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Marcus D. McNealey, according to a media release from Wichita Police.  The crime occurred early Sunday morning on the 2000 block of E. 21st Street North.

Just before 1a.m. on July 6, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2000 block of E. 21st Street North, where they found McNealey with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso in a parking lot.

EMS transported him to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The suspect identified in booking records as 32-year-old Kendre Porter was taken into custody at a residence in northeast Wichita. He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on charges requested charges of Second-degree Intentional Murder and Felon in Possession of Firearm. The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for formal prosecution.
