KANSAS CITY—A woman injured in an accident that occurred just before 8:30p.m. September 29, has died.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 1985 Chevrolet box van was westbound on MO 350 at Blue Parkway in Kansas City, according to KCPD Officer Jhanelle Cole. The driver failed to negotiate the curve of the road. The van traveled off the right side of the road and overturning before became engulfed in flames.
Both the driver and passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported for treatment. On October 6, the Jackson County Medical Examiner's office reported the passenger died of her injuries, according to Cole.
This marks fatality #54 compared to #51 at the same time last year, according to Cole. The woman's name has not been released.
