SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that left two injured.

Just before 1a.m. Sunday, the Shawnee County Emergency Communication Center received a report of two individuals with gunshot wounds in the 9000 block of SW Indian Hills Road, according to Deputy Abigail Christian

At the scene, deputies discovered a 51-year-old man and a 29- year-old woman with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. They were treated on scene and transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response.

During the investigation, deputies discovered a third individual identified as 38-year-old Jericoe M. Wolford of Topeka, was riding in a 1996 Ford Ranger with both victims.

A disturbance occurred and Wolford discharged a firearm that was reported stolen through the Topeka Police Department. Deputies took Wolford into custody on scene and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of stolen property.
