Suspect wanted in Washington State jailed after standoff in Kansas

PAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement from the Pawnee County Sheriff's Office, Larned Police Department, and the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force apprehended an exceptionally dangerous fugitive in the 200 block of East 20th Street in Larned, according to a media release.

The suspect was wanted on felony warrants out of Washington State and federal warrants for parole violations stemming from weapons offenses and robbery.

The suspect was taken into custody after a brief standoff and evaluated by Pawnee County EMS after being struck multiple times by conductive electrical weapons (TASER).

Law enforcement communicated with Larned Elementary School and sent the Pawnee County SRO to the Larned Elementary School for extra precaution.
