KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating a multi-state theft from Walmart stores and have made an arrest.
Just after 4p.m. Dec. 8, police were notified by another law enforcement agency about two suspects possibly heading towards the Walmart in Harrisonville, Missouri, approximately 39 miles south of Kansas City, according to a media release from the police department.
The suspects had reportedly been involved with an ongoing shoplifting scam from various Walmarts across the United States. The suspects were located by officers and placed under arrest for receiving stolen property.
The suspects have allegedly stolen over $58,000 worth of merchandise in the last 6 months from Walmarts in at least four different states.
Both suspects, who are not residents of the state of Missouri, were charged with Receiving Stolen Property (D Felony) and are currently being held at the Cass County jail.
