JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a series of auto thefts and have made several arrests.
Just after 2 a.m Monday, police were conducting routine patrols in the 1000 block of West Virginia Lane in Olathe, according to a media release.
An officer’s attention was directed to the area due to hearing squealing car tires. Officers located a 2020 Kia Optima with several subjects fleeing on foot from the vehicle. The Kia was reported stolen out of Kansas City, Missouri.
The initial investigation concluded with six juvenile arrests and the recovery of a second vehicle, a 2017 Hyundai Sonata that was reported stolen out of Overland Park.
Police released no additional details.
