SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a drug overdose at the Sedgwick County Jail.
On Sunday, EMS transported the 21-year-old female inmate to a Wichita-area hospital due to a possible overdose, according to Sheriff's Lt. Nathan Gibbs.
On Tuesday, the sheriff's office reported they did not have an update on her condition. Her family has been notified and visitation was granted.
She was booked into the Sedgwick County Detention Facility on May 16, 2022 on felony Fail to Appear and Material Witness charges.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the area and found what appears to be illegal substance. The woman remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon, according to Gibbs.
