KANSAS CITY —A teen wounded in a shooting on July 20 in Kansas City died from his injuries.
Just before midnight July 20, the victim identified as 17-year-old William R. Watson, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez was transported to the hospital by private vehicle suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Assault squad detectives, who worked the initial investigation, were notified over the weekend Watson had died of his injuries.
Detectives preliminarily believe the incident may have occurred in the area of 69th Street and Bellefontaine Avenue and are working to determine the events that lead up to the shooting.
Homicide detectives have now assumed responsibility for the case.
