LINN COUNTY —The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and La Cygne Police Department are conducting an investigation surrounding the death of a 1-year-old, according to a joint statement from the two agencies.
Just after 5p.m. September. 11, the La Cygne Police Department received a call reporting an unresponsive toddler in her home at 502 E Sycamore Street. First responders provided lifesaving measures, and the child was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased.
On Friday an autopsy was conducted. The results of autopsy were undetermined, and are pending additional testing and the final autopsy report. Death investigations may be determined to be the result of a homicide, suicide, natural causes, or an accident. Police released no additional details.
