SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on child abuse allegations.
Just after 9p.m., October 14, the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office was notified of possible child abuse involving a 1-year-old and 3-year-old child that had been occurring at a residence in the 6900 block of SW Arborhaven Lane, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
An investigation followed and on October 16, Deputies arrested 23-year-old Jacob I. Reisinger and 32-year-old Veronica C. C. Nelson both of Topeka,
Reisinger was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges that include two counts of endangering a child, abuse of a child and aggravated battery as well as one count of criminal threat.
Nelson was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections (SNDOC) on requested charges of two counts of endangering a child.
The victims are known to the suspects, according to Christian.
