Kan. man extradited to New York for alleged child sex crimes

GENESEE COUNTY, New York —Law enforcement authorities in New York are investigating a series of child sex crimes and have arrested a Kansas man.

On Monday, the New York State Police reported the Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested 41-year-old Daniel L. Goodell, 41 of Wichita, according to a media release from the New York State Police.

Between 2019 and 2021, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of the State Police in Batavia, New York received two complaints involving children possibly being sexually abused.

Investigation determined that a 13- and 12-year-old victims were sexually abused multiple times.  Goodell moved from New York before police investigated these incidents. Goodell was eventually located in Kansas and extradited to Genesee County.

He is being held on requested charges of Sexual Abuse 1st degree (D Felony) -12 counts, Endangering the Welfare of a Child -12 counts and Sexual Conduct with a Child 2nd degree (D Felony) -1 count.

Goodell was arraigned in the town of Alexander and remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash/ $60,000 bond.
