SEDGWICK COUNTY —One person died in a pedestrian accident on Thursday in Wichita.
The accident occurred just after 8a.m. at the intersection of Central and West Street, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.
First responders found 48-year-old Angela Carrillo from Wichita with serious head injuries after being struck by a Lincoln MKX driven by a 74-year-old man.
EMS transported Carillo to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
Police determined she was crossing West Street on foot, moving from east to west along Central, when the collision occurred. The driver of the Lincoln remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The Wichita Police Department’s Critical Accident Team continues to investigate this incident and is interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
