GEARY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating vandalism involving police vehicles in Geary County.

During the early morning hours Thursday Geary County Sheriff's Office vehicles were the target of vandalism when tires were slashed on 11 patrol units while parked in the lot at 9th and Franklin streets, according to a media release.

After viewing security video, sheriff's deputies arrested Justin Neinhaus, 36, of Grandview Plaza, on requested charges including 10 counts of felony criminal damage to property, two misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property and two counts of felony interference with a law enforcement officer. Damage to the Sheriff's vehicles is estimated to be approximately $12,000.

Junction City and Grandview Plaza police departments' vehicles were also damaged. In Grandview Plaza all four tires on each of three patrol cars were slashed. Each department has its own case against the suspect.
