KANSAS CITY —The owner of the Kansas City Chiefs is making a financial contribution toward the relief efforts following the deadly flooding in Texas.

In a statement released Wednesday through the MLS club the Hunt family owns, FC Dallas, Hunt said donations will be directed toward both immediate disaster response and long-term care.

On Sunday, Tavia Hunt, the wife of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt,  reported on Instagram they were mourning the loss of lives, “including a precious little Hunt cousin, along with several friend’s little girls.”

More than 160 are still believed to be missing in hard-hit Kerr County, Texas. The floods are now the deadliest from inland flooding in the U.S. since 1976. The Hunt Family is originally from Texas.
