Due to concerns surrounding Covid-19, the Lyons Lions girls basketball team has withdrawn from the 2021 Sterling Invitational.
As a result, the girls tournament bracket has been modified to a pool play system, which will result in the following matchups for Southeast.
The Lady Trojans are now in a pool with Sterling, Hutch Trinity and Scott City, and will have games on Tuesday and Thursday at Sterling High School.
Tuesdays contest will be a 5:00 tip against 2-4 Hutch Trinity, while Thursday will see SES face 7-0 Sterling at 4:45.
How the Lady Trojans fare, and how the other teams in both pools perform, will determine which final game they play in on Friday.
The worst team from pool A will face Chaparral in an eighth place game at 3pm at Sterling High School.
Following that game the 3rd place team from pool A will play the 3rd place team from pool B.
At Sterling College the second place team from each pool will meet at 3:00, while the championship game between the first place team from each pool will take place at 6:30pm.
The boys tournament will remain unchanged for the time being but we will continue to keep you up to date on any changes right here on Salina Post.
