SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on drug allegations after a traffic stop.
Just before 8:30p.m. Sept. 30, a K9 deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Taurus, with an expired temporary license plate, on Interstate 470 at SW 21st Street in Topeka, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
The K9 partner assisted and illegal narcotics were located.
Deputies arrested the driver, Brantin A. Beeton, 28, and the passenger, Chelsea A. Peavler, 30, both of Topeka.
They were booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Beeton on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended, no vehicle liability insurance and operating a motor vehicle with an expired tag. Peavler was held on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia
