SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a homicide in Wichita.
Just before 2:30p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to report of a shooting in 2700 block of W. 2nd Street in Wichita, according to Officer Kris Gupilan.
First responders located a 26-year-old victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a disturbance occurred between the victim and four other males prior to the shooting. The four suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation. Detectives are actively following up on leads to identify and locate the individuals involved. Police have not released the name of the victim.
