FBI investigating fatal shooting on Kan. Kickapoo Reservation

BROWN COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal shooting on the Kickapoo Reservation, according to Brown County Sheriff John Merchant.

Just after 7:30 a.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office received a call of a possible shooting in the 1300 Block of Firefly on the Reservation. First responders found a victim identified as William Blacksmith, 35, Whiting who was unresponsive in the yard near that address with multiple gunshot wounds.

A short time later, the suspect, Stryder Dane Keo, 32, was arrested without incident at his home on the reservation.

Keo was booked into the Brown County Jail just before 9 a.m. Sunday. He is being held without bond on requested charges of of Murder in the
1st Degree.  The incident is being investigated by the Brown County
Sheriff's Office, coordinated with the Brown County Attorney and the
Federal Bureau of Investigation.
