SHAWNEE COUNTY–Law enforcement authorities are investigating a burglary and have a suspect in custody.

Just after 11a.m. Monday, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received information that a residence  in the 7400 block of SW Indian Hills Road was broken into and at least one individual was still inside, according to deputy Abigail Christian.

Deputies arrived on scene and discovered an unsecure door. They also found Eric D. Kearns, 58, of Harveyville inside the residence. They took him into custody and transported him to the Law Enforcement Center for additional questioning. 

He was later booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of&nbsp; criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
