RENO COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating  21-year-old man in connection with a shooting in Hutchinson.

On Tuesday, police booked Nathan Plum into the Reno County jail on a $500,000 bond.

According to Hutchinson Police Lt. Dustin Loepp, this was a warrant arrest from a shooting that occurred on December 2, 2021.

In December 2021, police located a 38-year-old man near the alley behind 322 E 2nd Street in Hutchinson with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Police Lt. Dustin Loepp. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and survived.

The suspect fled the state and was taken into custody on unrelated charges in Oklahoma. He had some other legal obligations before he could be brought back to Kansas, so that’s why there was an extended period of time.  Authorities have not released charges against Plum.
