
JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. –Law enforcement are investigating a registered Kansas Offender on new allegations after a traffic stop.
Just after 6p.m. May 8, a Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Dodge Charger near 142nd Road and U.S. Highway 75 for multiple alleged traffic violations, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
The driver was identified as Kendra Dee Gable, 38, of Topeka. She has been listed as a registered offender since a 2011 conviction for drug distribution, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
During the course of the traffic stop, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was deployed and alerted to the presence of illegal drugs within the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle allegedly resulted in the discovery of illegal drug contraband.
Gable was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on the following on requested charges of possession of certain stimulants (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement by concealing, altering, or destroying evidence in a felony case, trafficking contraband into a correctional facility by introducing items onto jail grounds, aggravated violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act (8 counts), violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act (11 counts), driving while suspended, and no proof of insurance.
The charges include 22 alleged felony offenses in addition to misdemeanor and traffic-related violations.
