SEDGWICK COUNTY —Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of North Woodlawn in Wichita that left a 22-year-old woman critically injured.
Just before 3a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a reported shooting at the apartment complex. When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Officers immediately began life-saving measures until Sedgwick County EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. She remains in critical but stable condition.
The preliminary investigation indicates a large disturbance occurred in the parking lot before shots were fired by an unidentified suspect.
Investigators continue to interview witnesses to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
