Sentencing Day: Kan. registered offender attacked 2 women

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A registered Kansas violent offender who admitted a violent attack on two women in downtown Wichita will learn his fate Thursday.

Ishara Samson, 35, Wichita, will attend a sentencing hearing before Judge Kevin Smith, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

In April Samson plead guilty two counts of battery and an offender registration violation, according to the Sedgwick County District attorney's office.

On May 3, 2025 two women reported a suspect, later identified as Samson, attacked them while they were walking near Douglas and St. Francis in downtown Wichita, according to police.  Samson was arrested at a homeless shelter.

He has been listed as a registered violent offender in Kansas since October 2022 after conviction on charges of  Aggravated battery; Knowingly use weapon cause great body harm/disfigure/death after an attack with a sword. 

Samson has been held in the Sedgwick County Jail since his arrest on bonds totaling over $100,000, according to online jail records.
