Sheriff: Kansas man caught transporting cocaine

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating suspect on drug allegaions.

Just before 9a.m. August 25, a Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a Mercury Milan for a traffic infraction on U.S. Highway 75 near 174th Road in rural Jackson County, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

Deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and discovered illegal contraband. The driver, 21-year-old David Joseph Donald Friend, of Holton, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges that include possession of cocaine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
