WYANDOTTE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 10:30p.m. Thursday in Wyandotte County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Chrysler 300 driven by Jesus Aguilar-Santos, 29, Kansas City, Kansas, was westbound on Interstate 70 just before the I-670/I-35 exit.
The car rear-ended a 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Lori Wiggins, 60, Kansas City, Kansas that was on the shoulder of the highway. After impact the Jeep traveled into the north ditch and rolled.
A passenger in the jeep identified as Darrell Richardson, 78, Kansas City Kansas, was pronounced deceased at the scene. EMS transported Aguilar-Santos and Wiggins to KU Medical Center. Aguilar-Santos was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
