
JOHNSON COUNTY—A Kansas family escaped injured after fire at their home caused by a space heater.
Just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a house fire at 1201 S Payne Street in Olathe, according to a social media report.

The fire displaced three adults who got help from friends. A fire investigator said a space heater caused the blaze. There were no injured.
According to the fire department, when using space heaters, keep anything that can burn at least 3 ft away. Plug directly into outlets and Turn off and unplug before sleeping or leaving the home.The Olathe Police Department and Johnson County MED-ACT also helped at the scene.
