GEARY COUNTY —Two people died in an accident during a pursuit just before 4:30p.m. Wednesday in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Geary County sheriff's deputies were in pursuit of a 2004 Ford F150 driven by Seth A Moreland, 41, Caney, westbound on Interstate 70 at just east of the Washington Street exit to Junction City. The pickup exited and then re-entered westbound Interstate 70 traveling the wrong way and struck a 2019 Cadillac XT5 SUV driven by Diane M. Lister, 62, Chapman, head-on in the interchange area.
Moreland and Lister were pronounced dead at the scene and were transported Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home. Moreland was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Authorities have not released details on what prompted the chase.
