2 adults, 10-year-old dead after Saline County crash

SALINE COUNTY —Three people died in an accident just before 1:30p.m. Sunday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 driven by Christopher Lee Giroux, 24, Salina, was  northbound on Interstate 135 eight miles south of Salina.

The pickup failed to maintain its lane, traveled into the median, merged onto the southbound side of Interstate 135 and struck a southbound Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Phillip Ray Hett, 39, Lindsborg.

Giroux, Hett and and one passenger in the Dodge, identified as Abigail Hett, 10, Lindsborg, were pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Ryan's Mortuary in Salina.

EMS transported a second passenger in the Dodge, Jillian Hett, 13, Lindsborg, to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

The KHP did not have complete seat belt information.
