KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a high-speed chase.
On Feb. 1, sheriff's deputies in Clay County, overheard deputies in Jackson County in pursuit of a stolen truck and trailer with an ATV on it northbound on Interstate 435, according to a media release.
The driver continued into Clay County, where Jackson County deputies terminated their pursuit, and Clay County deputies caught up with the vehicle, with the assistance of Claycomo Police Department.
Two of the truck's tires had already struck Stop Sticks. Deputies pursued the vehicle until it came to a stop near N.E. 96th Street and N. Brighton. The driver put his hands out the window and was taken into custody with no further incident.
Deputies learned the truck, trailer and ATVs had been stolen from Olathe, Kansas. There were four ATVs on the trailer when it was stolen. The driver, 34-year-old Tyler S. Young of Blue Springs, has been charged with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing from a stop and resisting arrest.
