Deputies catch wanted Kansas man after traffic stop

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man on multiple charges after a traffic stop.

Just before 3 a.m. Tuesday, a sheriff’s deputy stopped at 2005 Lexus for a traffic infraction near 150th and Q.4 Road, according to sheriff Tim Morse.

The deputies seized methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle.

The driver, Jeffrey Scott Dunaway, 48, of Topeka, was arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, no insurance and for two outstanding Jackson County District Court warrants.

Dunaway was booked and remains in the Jackson County Jail.
