Update: 2 firefighters burned fighting Kansas house fire

WICHITA— Both firefighters burned while fighting a Sunday house fire were released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon, according to a social media report from the Wichita Fire Department. 

A third firefighter was injured restraining someone from entering the burning residence. Meanwhile, two other people suffered injuries. One was hospitalized, the other refused treatment.

WICHITA —Authorities continue to investigate the cause of  a Sunday night fire that sent 6 people including four Wichita firefighters to the hospital for treatment of burns.

Two of the firefighters were released from the hospital Monday afternoon, according to a social media report from the Wichita Fire Department. Two firefighters were still hospitalized. One was awaiting surgery and the other has "encouraging results and should be released Tuesday."

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Six people, including four Wichita firefighters, are being treated for burns after fire broke out at a home.

KSNW-TV reports that the fire happened Sunday night. Deputy Fire Chief Josh Pavelski says two firefighters were taken to the hospital with burns, one in serious condition.

A third firefighter was injured restraining someone from entering the burning residence. Meanwhile, two other people suffered injuries. One was hospitalized, the other refused treatment. Authorities didn’t immediately say if those people were residents of the home.
