Armed, dangerous Kan. homicide suspect turns himself in

SEDGWICK COUNTY—The search for a man wanted in connection with the death of a woman in Wichita is over.

Just before 1:30p.m. Thursday, Xavion Dates turned himself in to Wichita police at City Hall. His surrender was coordinated with former City Council member Brandon Johnson, Dates’ family and violence interrupters, according to a social media report from Wichita Police.

Just after 6p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 300 Block of Tyler Road in Wichita where they found a 24-year-old woman who had been shot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said Xavion Dates ran from the area and stole a car. Police later found the vehicle in the 500 Block of N Rock Road in Wichita.

Police have not reported what possible charges Dates might face or additional details.
